Baptism of Children
To have a child baptized at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Annunciation you must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic church. At least one parent must be registered and attending Mass at this or another Catholic parish. If you are a member of another Catholic parish you must obtain a letter from the pastor giving his permission for the child to be baptized here.
You are encouraged to prepare for your child's baptism during the pregnancy or adoption process so that your child may be baptized as soon as possible. If you have a child under 6 years of age that is in need of baptism you must attend a baptism class. The Baptism Class is held approximately monthly in the gathering space adjacent to the church. Times and dates vary based on need. Please call the office to register for the class.
Godparents must be Catholics who have received the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation, are in good standing with the Catholic Church, in a valid Catholic Marriage or living a chaste single life and regularly attended Sunday and Holy Day Mass. Only one Godparent is required, however, you may have two if you desire (one of each gender). The Godparent(s) must complete the form below and return to the parish office at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled baptism.
If your child is over 6 years of age you will need to schedule a meeting with Fr. Jim to discuss how best to prepare your child for baptism.
Baptisms are generally held on the second Sunday of each month following the 11:45 Mass. Contact the parish office to schedule a date for your child's baptism.
